Sunrise Poppy

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today, I am the third designer to post a new card from the Spring 2015 Collection.  This new collection has dozens of dies, stamps and stencils—-time to go shopping!  Poppies are the state flower here in California so this is my flower homage featuring the gorgeous Sunrise Poppy.

 I paired graphite and sky blue papers together with mango and meadow green papers for the flower—I love this color combination.  The poppy was die cut in green and mango, both were distress inked to add color variation and shading.  The flower pieces were easily pieced into their respective places once the green outline was adhered to the card.

For a fun and interesting element I die cut the Distressed Baptisia Collage into the upper left corner of the grey panel—the new collage dies are my absolute favorites in this collection and love how the layered paper shows through the cut openings.  

I added some randomly placed sequins for a little pizzaz… now for the inside…

Keeping it sweet and simple, I stamped the new sentiment Happiness onto a Stitched Rectangle Layer, inked the butterfly with Copic markers and added more sequins.

  47. That Distress Baptista Collage die is one die that would be a welcome addition in anyone’s die collection.There are so many things one could do with that die. The poppy die is another winner as shown on your lovely card. So pretty. Memory Box has done it again with another great collection. Guess I will have to go out of retirement and get a job to pay for all my dies on order. Congratulations to Memory Box and all its designers!!!!

  59. love the poppydie very much, here in flanders also symbol for the remembrance of world war 1914-1918. Surely one for my wish-list, love to have lots of poppies, same for butterfies and deers… 😉
