Petey Bird Postage

I haven't been using my PrismaColor colored pencils much lately, so I decided to make some cards that offered me a chance to color!  I chose the PETEY BIRD stamp no. CS2030E (the clear stamp but it is also available wood-mounted as E2030) for this purpose.  

I started with some plain white cardstock and the Memory Box stencil 88600 DOT GRID which I inked using a fingertip dauber and Hero Arts Cornflower ink.  I then used the POSTAGE SET die no. 99131 to cut out my stamps.  I inked up PETEY BIRD CS2030E using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and set him in the center of the largest postage stamp I die cut and then colored him.

I also die cut some smaller blue birds from cardstock using the Open Studio die BIRDS OF A FEATHER no. 30045 and glued them to smaller postage stamps to finish the front of the card.

For the second card, I used Washi tape to secure the POSTAGE SET stencil no. 88605 to a piece of white cardstock.  I inked the center of each section using Hero Arts Cornflower ink and a jumbo dauber.  I then stamped PETEY BIRD twice in the largest of the small rectangles and once in the small square with VersaFine Onyx Black ink.  I removed the stencil and replaced it with the POSTAGE SET die no. 99131 to cut out my postage stamps.  I then colored in the birds with my PrismaColor colored pencils.  I decided to add a stamped sentiment on an extra rectangle postage stamp left from another project–"always keep hope in your heart" CS2058B (wood-mounted B2058).   I snipped it off at the right edge of the card to fit.

These blue birds look so pretty on the Pool notecards. The Postage Set die and the coordinating stencil make it super easy to create your own faux postage!
