…And the Blog Blitz continues! I love the look of wild stems collected into a bouquet. I've made special occasion arrangements several times by picking wild grasses and weedy-looking things in fields and on the side of the road to use alone or to add interesting texture and contrast to cut flowers in baskets and buckets. So I knew I needed to have the WILD PRAIRIE STEMS die no. 99436.
On this card I combined the WILD PRAIRIE STEMS with the ADELAIDE STEM die no. 99432 to make a bouquet. I used the HONEYCOMB CORNER die no. 99448 as an added design element.

I pulled a watercolored background from a pile of already prepared papers and trimmed it into two pieces for this card. It's hard to see, but after painting on watercolor paper, I had spritzed it with a metallic gold spray which gives it quite a bit of shimmer. I backed the watercolor pieces with dark brown cardstock and used the same paper to die cut the Honeycomb Corner. The Wild Prairie Stems were cut from more of the dark brown cardstock and again from a lighter brown and glued together. I added one Adelaide Stem on top and tied them with thin twine. Using just a few glue dots to secure the bouquet gives it some dimension on the card panel.

And because I can never make just one card once I get going, here's one that uses the Wild Prairie Stems hanging in front of the Honeycomb Corner as one would hang a bunch of wild stems, flowers, or herbs to dry.

On this card, I cut the Honeycomb Corner from a piece of watercolored paper and left some of the honeycomb cells in place. I have thought up so many ways to use the Wild Prairie Stems and have three more cards done already! I love to read your comments, so I hope you will leave a comment on this post by Sunday April 17th at 11:59 pm EST. You could win your own Wild Prairie Stems die! Winners will be announced on the Outside the Box blog on Monday, April 18th.
Happy Crafting!
