Hi there! Yes, May is our "For the Birds" challenge and here is my Elodee bird card to share with you today. Playing along with our monthly challenges is fun and easy to do. Here are the guidelines for entering our monthly challenges.
This Elodee bird consists of two layers, a solid base and an intricate overlay. To the solid base I brushed Pan Pastels in pinks, yellows, teals and a bit of purple. No need to stress over color placement–general areas are just fine, especially when the overlay is added.

As you can see the overlay will define the bird beautifully.

For the card's background, I sponged Shabby Shutters, Broken China and Blueprint Sketch distress inks onto the watercolor paper, spritzed water onto the card, blotted then flicked a bit of ink for speckles. I also added the "thought cloud" trailing off the paper (to be trimmed as a final step) with "tweet tweet" spelled out. Deep thinker, this little bird!
Hope Spring is showing itself in your neck of the woods…this card makes it seem close!

Have a great weekend everyone, and to all the Mothers near and far, a very happy day
