Blog Blitz Week for the New Release

Memory Box has a new release of dies that we think you are going to love.  There are ocean-themed dies as well as Spring related  dies that coordinate really well with the items that were released in January.  I hope you will stop by each day this week through Sunday to be inspired by the new goodies.  There will even be chances to win prizes.

To make my card, I sprinkled some Cerulean Blue and Ultramarine Colorburst powders onto a non-stick craft sheet and spritzed them with water.  I then dragged some 140lb watercolor paper through the puddles of color and spritzed my piece with water to give it a splattered look.  Here is a close up of my background:

Next, I  used the Ocean Swell die to cut out the little sea collage in the center.  The fun thing about this die is that even though you might cut through the center of you piece of paper (as I did with my white cardstock), the left side and right side are still connected to each by the jellyfish and one of the smaller fish at the bottom.

After I cut out the collage of sea creatures, I glued my white cardstock piece onto the background I had made with the Colorburst powders.  To embellish the card, I cut out various sizes of coral and added a few sequins that matched the colors on the card.  Hint…  My delicate fan coral die was too big for the card because it covered up some of the wonderful fish and shells.  I simply cut off the parts of the coral that were blocking the fish and made it a size that fit the card much better.  It would be very easy to cut this die to make coral in any shape or size you wanted.
