Golden Fern
by Laura Fulcher

Greetings friends.  Today I wanted to share another card that I created using some metallic paints paired with a metallic die cut and metallic layers.  Using the gold paper really makes the metallic paint “pop” a bit more.

Here is a close-up under the light so that you can see the metallic sheen a bit better:

To make the card, I started with a piece of kraft cardstock and painted the stripes on the left freehand using the Fine Tec metallic paints.  The paints are really shiny, and the colors range from a silvery white, to a champagne gold to more intense dark golds.  On the right side of the card, I added more water to the paints and flicked the colors onto the cardstock to get a splattered effect.

To finish the card, I added a birthday sentiment from the So Many Things to Love clear stamp set and the Tall Fern Left Corner die cut from gold metallic paper.

Here is a final close up:

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.  Look for samples of the latest release this week on the blog as well as chances to win prizes.

  3. Wow a lot of people can make the dies look good, the dies do most the work 🙂 But with this card it truly shows the talent of the creator.
