Feathered Friends
by Penny Ward

Hello Memory Box friends. Penny here today with….. NOT A CARD!!! I love to sew and when the new Feathered Friends deep edge dies arrived I just had to cut some fabric with them.

How stinkin' cute are these birds?!?

I made the Bowl Cozy from scrap fabric. If you love to sew you can find all sorts of patterns on Pinterest for these.

On this Feathered Friend, I die cut from scraps of fabric, adhered together with Collall glue then stitched it to the center of my bowl with zigzags.

I made this bowl cozy from a Kitchen Towel I purchased at the Dollar Tree. Die cut the Feathered Friend from scrap fabric and simply glued it to the center of the bowl with Collall glue.

Main body of birds is actually wool felt, as is the beak and eyes.

For those that don't sew……Grab yourself a few hot pads at the Dollar Tree, die cut your Feathered Friends from scrap fabrics or Fat Quarters and glue them on.

I am thinking cute teacher gifts here!!

  1. I made myself a Bowl Cozy this year and use it almost everyday. Thank you for the simple idea of using a kitchen towel and of course this adorable little bird. 🐦

  2. Beautiful bowl cozy! Love the colours. I buy kitchen towels and pot holders at Dollar Tree all the time, I like their selection and colours. The great possibility about this project is no need for an expensive embroidery machine. Die cut with the machine we already have, use scrap fabrics, or buy small amounts, and fabric glue. Embellish with hand embroidery stitches if you choose. I love this easy peasy fun project! Thank you for sharing today!
