Birthday Fishes

Hello everyone!

Today I have a card for you which features a fun technique using a Gelli Plate.

The circle background on the card is the piece I created with the Gelli Plate.  

To begin with, I die cut the fish on a piece of white cardstock to make a stencil.  

I placed my stencil on the Gelli Plate and sponged Pan Pastels over the stencil. 

Next, I removed the fish stencil and placed a piece of mesh (it came from a bag of onions) over the Gelli Plate and added some blue Pan Pastels in the background. 

Once I finished my background, I brayered  a thin layer of white acrylic paint over the plate and then pressed a piece of white cardstock onto the Gelli Plate to make a print. Next I die cut a circle shape from the print.  I also stamped, colored and die cut some fish and seaweed to add to the card.  I stamped the striped border and trimmed it to fit the card.

To assemble the card, I spattered a piece of white cardstock with black ink and glued the striped border to the card front.  

Next I glued the circle to right side of the card front. I let it hang off the side and trimmed away the excess.  

Then I glued the fish to the circle and added the seaweed.

I stamped the sentiment onto a white cardstock strip and glued it to the card.

To finish up the card I added some clear dots.
