One-Layer Masked Card
by Laura Fulcher

Greetings friends. Today I want to share a one-layer card with you.  You could make this card with layered pieces instead of masking, but sometimes I really want the flat look of a one-layer.  Plus, it makes it really easy to adhere the die cut flowers onto the paper when there aren’t any layered edges.

To make the card, I first masked the outside edges of my white card as well as a section in the center when I would later add a sentiment.  I used Eclipse Tape for my masks, but you can also use Post-Its…just make sure you get the kind that has sticky behind the entire paper instead of just a strip at the top:

I then chose some colors of Distress Oxide inks that I thought would blend well together:

I sponged the area with my chosen colors and made sure to get a nice, heavy coat of ink on the paper:

If you spritz the paper with water, you get a nice splattered effect:

Remove your masks at an angle to reduce the chance of tearing your paper:

You should end up with crisp edges:

As a finishing touch, I added some Lemon Meringue Glitter Glue to the centers of the flowers.  I love the Lemon Meringue color because it has the softest hint of yellow to it:

Have a fantastic weekend!
