Send caring thoughts and special hugs with a trio of the new Ava Butterflies. They’re diecut from pearlescent 6×6’s in the Vintage Pastel Mirror Pad – and perfect when you need a really quick card. Hi, Jean Okimoto here with another slimline design and a bit of rescued background paper from my stash.
Cut Ava Butterflies from the pale blue, peach and aqua Vintage Pastel Mirror Pad 6×6 sheets.
Sponge the smoother side of Open Studio Watercolor Paper with salvaged patina, spun sugar and broken china Distress Oxides. Add a light spritz of water and let the inks blend a bit. Heat-set it, then cut it with the smallest Stylish Rectangle Trio die.
Here’s my favorite way to align and assemble the new Hugs Daily Script greeting. Attach Scor-tape to the top of white cardstock and diecut the solid background. Cut the detailed letters from a teal 6×6 in the Fresh Aqua Collection. Remove the diecut pieces, then place the letters back into the die. (That’s easier than pulling the offcuts out!) Save the tape liner and press the adhesive-covered background onto the letters. Use the saved tape liner to press the letters firmly onto the adhesive. Cover the remaining exposed adhesive with Imagine’s Iridescent Embossing Powder, tap the excess off, then heat-emboss the greeting. It’ll be straight, completely adhered and sparkly!
Attach the diecuts to a white slimline card (3-½” x 8-½”) – use foamtape at the centers of the butterflies and let the wings lift at the outer edges. Add turquoise Bright Jewels.
