Playing with Watercolor
by Laura Fulcher

Greetings friends. I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. Today I wanted to share I card I made using the new foil plates, dies, and some watercolor paints I haven’t used before.

I wanted to create a background for my white butterflies, so I used some Memory Box watercolor paper, spritzed it with water and then randomly added some Derwent Graphtint paints. The watercolors are made with graphite and have a more muted tone. I thought they would really show off the white butterflies well.  Here was the background before I added everything:

To be honest, I wasn’t sure if I liked the colors when they were still wet. However, I liked them a lot once they dried. I always say to never judge watercolor when it is wet. I should have listened to my own advice.

I added my butterflies to the card so that the larger butterflies were in the bottom left-hand corner and the smaller butterflies were in the top-right. I wanted to give the impression they were flying away.

Here is the finished card:

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
