Hello everyone. I’m so excited for the current 2023 Christmas release! So many beautiful products and I can’t wait to work my way through it! My simple Christmas card today features dies Nestled Chickadee Duo, Vintage Lantern, and Classic Pine Needle Sprigs along with the Shining Star stamp set for the sentiment.
All black pieces were die cut from grey cardstock and ink blended/shaded with Black Soot distress ink (DI) to give them dimension. The pine needles were die cut from light green cardstock and shading added with Rustic Wilderness DI. The rest of the pieces were die cut from white.
For the glow of the light, traced the lantern with a pencil onto a white scrap, fussy cut it out then ink blended it with Antique Linen and Brushed Corduroy DI. Antique Linen DI was also applied to the chickadees’ white bodies. Having their eyes white didn’t look right, so filled in their eyes with a black Polychromos pencil. The sentiment was heat embossed on white cardstock with gold embossing powder. Assembled the card onto white woodgrain paper then mounted it onto a white card base to finish.
