Happy Birthday Cake Card
by Sara Cook

Hi everyone!  I have another birthday card this time featuring the Happy Birthday Background Plate die and Birthday Party Cake die set.  The card’s color scheme is blue and green, but you can change this up to the recipients favorite 2 colors.

Background:

Take an A2 size panel from watercolor and ink smoosh with Distress Salty Ocean and Prize Ribbon, drying in between each layer to create depth.  Spritz with Bibi Cameran’s Silver Sparkle Bases.  Adhere a die cut of the Happy Birthday Background Plate die from white card stock.  After die cutting you can save the works and letters to use on other cards.  Reserve the 2nd Birthday die cut for use later.

Focal Image:

Die cut the Birthday Party Cake and Celebration Balloons die sets.  Ink blend the die cuts with Distress Oxide in Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Cracked Pistachio, and Squeezed Lemon aide.  On the balloons I also added some shine using WinkaStella pen.  Ink blend the Birthday die cast from the background with Cracked Pistachio.

Assembly:

Adhere background panel to an A2 size to fold card.  Adhere the cake and candles together using the envelope as a guide.  Adhere the ink blended birthday die cut into back in the background.  Stamp “happy” from the “happy birthday” stamp from the Birthday Chic Clear Stamp set over the upper right side of the reinserted birthday die cut.  Adhere the cake and balloons to the card front.
