Greetings friends. The new Holiday 2021 release has arrived! In addition to dies, there are also stamps, papers, embossing folders, and jewels. There is a little something for everyone. If you would like to see the entire release, you can view it here.
For my card today, I really wanted to highlight the new papers. There is a great plaid 6" x 6" paper pack as well as lots of glitter papers.
To make the card, I first cut out my poinsettia using kraft cardstcok and layered it onto some plaid paper:
The poinsettia is interesting because it can be removed from the sidebar of paper if you want an individual flower, or you can leave it attached as I did. There is even a coordinating stencil that comes with the die if you want to color specific areas of the flower. Handy!
Next, I offset a gold glitter poinsettia on top of the first:
Finally, I paper-pieced some red and pink glitter paper onto the gold poinsettia outline. I left the bottom layer of kraft poinsettia petals plain so that the green plaid would show through and give the impression of leaves:
To finish the card, I added some of the new Autumn colored Fairy Gemstones to the center of the flower and added a sparkling "Joy" sentiment.
