Gladiola Thank You Card
by Sara Cook

Hi everyone.  My daughter is graduating this Sumer and I need a lot of thank you cards.  I will have several thank you card designs over the next few weeks.  Using the Thank You Greeting Tabs and a flower die as a focal point makes it easy to create individual design cards.

Background:

Select a lighter peachy color paper  from the Blush Solid Core pack and trim to 4″ x 5 1/2″.  Heat emboss with a gold embossing powder using the Cheerful Floral clear stamp set.  Ink blend with Distress Oxide Tattered Rose around the outside half way in.  Then ink blend with Tea Dye staying towards the edges. Finally ink blend the edge of the card with Scorched Timber.  Die cut heavy weight vellum using the 3rd smallest die from the Wrapped Stitched Slim Rectangle.  Position the die cut back in the edge of the die to cut to the length of 5 1/2″ tall, keeping the width the same.

Flower:

Die cut the Sensational Gladiola Stem fro white card stock.  Ink blend the petals with Distress Oxide Tattered Rose, shedding heavy at the bottom and light on the top.  Ink blend the buds heavy. Leave the tops of the petals white.  Ink blend the stems using Distress Oxide Bundled Sage and then lightly with Scorched Timber.  Adhere the flowers together following the image on the front of the envelope.

Bird:

Die cut the Layered Hummingbird from heavy white card stock.  Ink blend the body of the bird very lightly with Distress Oxide Tea Dye.  Ink blend the eye using Tattered Rose and then Tea Dye.  Ink blend the beak/eye using Scorched Timber.  The head and wings use Bundled Sage and darken using Scorched Timber.  Adhere together using the envelope as a guide.  Add black gel pen to the eye.

Assembly:

Adhere the background to the center of a A2 card panel then to a white A2 size card.  Adhere the flowers to the center of the vellum die cut panel.  Then adhere to the left side of the card.  Adhere a Thank You Foil Greeting Black Tab.
