Greetings friends. I was inspired by Memory Box’s new Snowflake rub-ons, and thought they would pair really well with the Holiday Snowglobe die. Let me walk you through the steps I used for the card.
First, I rubbed the rub-ons onto a piece of acetate. I placed the circle die on top so that I could get an idea of how big of an area I needed to transfer the snowflakes onto the acetate:

Next, I removed the rub-on backing and die-cut a circle out of my snowflake acetate using the die from the snowglobe set:

I cut out a blue circle with the same die and then added my birdhouse and bird to the blue circle. I sponged a bit of Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink onto the side of the birdhouse for a bit of dimension:

Anyone who has ever worked with acetate knows that you often worry about how to adhere the acetate to cardstock without seeing the tape of glue To adhere my snowflake circle over the blue circle, I put one dot of glue form a glue pen at the center of each of the snowflakes and then placed the acetate on top of my birdhouse scene. I was pleasantly surprised that the glue blended really well and that I didn’t need to add a ton of glue to stick the two pieces together:

All that was left was to add my base and some holly from the same die set. I did cut out holly berries using a standard hole punch. As a finishing touch, I added one of the new holiday tabs to the base of the snowglobe with my message.
It is hard to tell from the final photo, but I layered the snowglobe onto some cream woodgrain paper. I liked the extra texture for the background.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
