Cheers! The just-released Waving Penguin greets the season with a mug of steamy hot cocoa. A Fan Stitch Scalloped Frame and Pine Berry Branch create the holiday backdrop for our new friend. Hi, Jean here with another winter design from our Joyful Season release.
Attach adhesive label paper (or a sticker sheet) to wool-blend white felt and cut the Waving Penguin, hatband and pompom. Cut the head/arms/sides from Black Glossy Paper. Cut the hat and 2 top layers of the scarf from bright red cardstock in the Blush 6×6 set. Cut the bottom scarf layer from a dark red Blush 6×6. Cut the feet and face background from an orange 6×6 in the Sunrise set – color the eye areas with a black marker.
Assemble the Waving Penguin. Punch a 1/4″ circle from the paper-backed white felt and glue it over the hat tip for extra pouf.
Cut Pine Berry Branch twice from a dark green 6×6 in the Greenery set. Trim the section at the tip and add it to the branch for extra fullness. Cut the berries from the red Rainbow Reflections Mirror Pad 6×6.
Cut the second-largest Fan Stitch Scalloped Frame from a turquoise 6×6 in the Lagoon set.
Needed a mug – so I created one from giftbox dies! It’s a shiny red mug of steamy cocoa using the new Plentiful Presents die set. Cut the short/wide giftbox and the bow from the red Rainbow Reflections 6×6. Attach half of the bow behind the giftbox so it resembles the handle. Cut the squiggle from heavy white cardstock – attach it to the background behind the mug, like a wisp of steam.
Attach the diecuts to a white A6 card (4-1/2″ x 6-1/4″ ) – use foam dots for the mug. Trim the left side of the hot cocoa Christmas Magic Black Foil Label Tab. Cut an A6-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.
