Hello everyone! Samantha here on the Memory Box blog and today I am sharing a card featuring the adorable new Snowy Owl dies from the latest Joyful Season release.

Background:
For this card, I die cut a piece of Cream Woodgrain Paper using the second largest die from the Fringed Scalloped Frames set. To add a little depth to the frame, I next lightly ink-blended around the edges using Distressed Oxide Ground Espresso. To finish everything off I then added some dark brown splatter using my Altenew watercolor pan set before mounting the panel onto a dark, navy-blue, A2-sized mat.
Snowy Owl:
I wanted my card to have a bit of a masculine vibe, so I die cut my owl pieces from brown, tan, and navy blue cardstock. I then die cut some of the cap and scarf pieces from blue plaid pattern paper. For my Pine Berry Branch dies, I die cut the branch from 80lb white cardstock and the berries from the same blue as the hat and scarf.
Next, I ink-blended some shading onto my owl body and my Pine Branches using Ground Espresso and Gathered Twigs Distressed Oxide Inks. For my pine needles, I combined Mowed Lawn and Pine Needles Distressed Oxide Inks. Once everything was completed, I assembled my Snowy Owl and my Pine Berry Branch per the guides on the back of the packaging.

Final Assembly:
I carefully arranged my owl onto his pine branch as shown and adhered him with both glue and foam tape for added dimension. I then die cut a “Peace” sentiment from the Peace Love Joy Stylish Script Sentiment Dies from the same dark navy blue as my mat. I cut two sentiments and stacked them together before gluing to the panel. To finish everything off I attached my card panel to a folding, white, A2-sized card base and my cute card was complete. I can also say this card was a big favorite of my husband’s so my masculine color palette was effective.
