Grateful Hearts Card

Donna here, with a card featuring some new products from the 2017 Memory Box Spring Collection!

To create this card I die cut watercolor paper and Licorice cardstock using the new Rectangle Basics dies.  Sponge the watercolor paper with Spun Sugar distress ink and mist with water.  Once the ink was dry I spattered the paper with black ink.

The Grateful Hearts, I die cut using silver metallic cardstock and glued to the center of the card front.  I added red stickles to one of the hearts in the die cut.  The sentiment I typed on the computer and glued to the handle of the grater along with a twine bow.


To finish the card, I used white embossing powder for the happy birthday sentiment on a strip of licorice cardstock. Glue the "Happy Birthday" to the bottom right hand side of the card.  I added some washi tape to the top left and bottom right of the card front. Glue the card front to a licorice cardstock layer, which was the adhered to a white card base.

  27. Oh my goodness Donna, this is sweet! This would be a perfect card for my married daughter. (I got a box grater for a shower gift 37 years ago and it is still like new and she WANTS it! It is the best grater ever. For ALL that its been used, it is still shiny and SHARP!) She’d get a ‘grate’ laugh from a card like yours! Pun intended.

She is in heaven now, but I will be putting the grater on my wish list to make a layout with it and a pic of she and I. Special memories. Thanks for the inspiration.
