Here’s a Valentine design for dog people – and a bit of pink-spiration for February’s Tickled Pink Challenge. Hello, Jean Okimoto here, let’s build a woodgrained doghouse for the Poppystamps Whittle Scottie.
The Poppystamps Whittle Scottie and Word Balloons were bought to make card kits – they’re great with Memory Box designs too!
Cut House Frame Background fron a pink 6×6 in the Berry Red Collection. Prep the Wood Grain Planks die by rubbing it briskly with a scrunched waxed paper for easier removal. Cut pink background with the Wood Grain Planks die – leave the pieces in the die. Tape the pieces together with Scotch Tape or Magic Tape for easier removal as a single background piece vs. separate planks.
Cut the woodgrain background with the door die. Cut the door again with a taupe 6×6 from the Earth Neutral Collection. Cut the House frame including one scored section at the bottom from the same taupe 6×6 – keep the tiny piece at the top and tape it in place.
Cut the streamer sections of the Heart Streamer Globe from a bright pink 6×6 in the Berry Red Collection. Sbnip the streamers from the globe frame – keep the “string” attached to the hearts at the ends. Attach the streamers behind the edges of the taupe frame – and between the streamers
Attach the pink woodgrain background.
Cut 2 fence pieces – from the House Frame set – from natural cardstock. Trim one right and one left side.
Cut the Poppystamps Whittle Scottie from a dark brown Earth Neutral 6×6. Cut another Scottie from black cardstock and layer it for dimension. Color the nose with a black marker. Attach three pink jewels from the Bright Jewels set.
Cut the word bubble from the Poppystamps Word Balloons set. Stamp the greeting – from the Big and Little Valentine Words Clear Stamps – with Charming Pink VersaFine Clair. Quickly heat-emboss it with detail clear powder,
Attach the diecuts to a Cream Woodgrain Paper (cardstock) A-2 card – use foamtape behind the top of the house and the Scottie’s head.
