Island Vacation Seascape by Jean Okimoto

Tropical getaways are a popular theme this summer – and the Island Vacation Collection is the perfect mix of nautical and tropical designs.  Hi, Jean Okimoto here with a summer slimline ready for any occasion.

Cut the Grand Spiral Shell background from the smoother side of Open Studio Watercolor Paper.  Spray a light mist of water into the air and pull the diecut through the moisture to prep it for 3D embossing.  Repeat with the other side of the paper.  Pressure-emboss it with the Ocean Fish 3D Embossing Folder – with the smoother side of the paper facing the more debossed (sunken) side of the folder.   Leave the diecut in the die – it’ll be used as a stencil.

Stencil it with Distress Oxides – abandoned coral, twisted citron and salvaged patina.  Dry the inks.  The combination of pressure embossing and stenciling thru the metal die adds extra dimension.  Pressure-embossing also makes it easier to layer the pieces – the detailed overlay settles right into the embossed design.

Cut the delicate Grand Spiral Shell from a white 6×6 in the Delicate Pastels Glitter Pad.

Cut the straight rope and the heavily-textured loopy rope from the white Delicate Pastels Glitter Pad sheet too.

Cut the fish – from the new Ocean Fish 3D Embossing Folder & Cutting Dies – from the turquoise 6×6 in the Rainbow Reflections Glitter Pad. Place the fish in the embossing folder and emboss it using the plate(s) required for your machine.

Attach the diecuts to a white slimline card (3-⅝” x 8-½”).  Add 3 of the biggest Clear Fairy Drops.  Cut a slimline-sized rectangle of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing

Fresh tropical pastels, glitter and mirror cardstock – and the Island Vacation Collection – make it easy to create happy, refreshing designs for summer sharing.  Thanks for visiting our blog!  Have a great weekend – see you next week!
