Hugs in Bloom by Jean Okimoto

Send hugs with Magnolia Rub-On Transfers – from bud to bloom – on a layered slimline greeting.  Hi, Jean here with a floral design in comforting shades of soft pinks and warm browns.

Cut the magnolia buds and blossom and their paper liners from the transfer sheet – leave a generous border around each design.  Carefully remove the paper liner and press the transfers lightly onto pink cardstock – leave extra space to diecut the circles.  The Magnolia Rub-On Transfers sets include a wood craft stick to burnish the beautiful designs.  Or run them through the diecut machine to burnish the designs – between 2 sheets of printer paper and the base + cutting plates. Remove the frosty protective top layer then diecut the designs with the 1-½” and 1-¾” Circle Basics dies.

Cut light pink cardstock with the 6.7″ x 1.7″ Slim Basic Rectangle Layers die.  Cut the rectangle with the Vertical Line Collage die.

Cut the leafy brown Magnolia Grove 6×6 with the 1.4″ x 6.4″ Slim Basic Rectangle Layers die.  Attach the brown print behind the collage cutout.

Cut the Hugs Tender Script background from light pink cardstock.  Spritz both sides with a light mist of water, then pressure-emboss it with the detailed top layer of the greeting.  Pressure-embossing creates a debossed area to attach the detailed top layer.  Cut the top layer from the brown leaf print.  Assemble the greeting.

Attach the diecuts to a light pink slimline card (3-⅝” x 8-½”) – use foam taper for the greeting.  Add pale gold Treasure Chest Fairy Gemstones.  Cut a slimline-sized rectangle of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

The Magnolia Rub-On Transfers look beautifully realistic over white and natural cardstock.  Layer them over pink, light lavender or light violet cardstock for a different look.

Thanks for visiting…have a great week!
