Mixed Media Thank You Card
by Sara Cook

Hi everyone!  I have a mixed media card for you today.  Usually mixed media cards take a lot of time but I have focus only on 2 colors using the new Glimmering Gladiola paper as inspiration.

Background:

Die cut the pink and gold gladiola paper from the Glimmering Gladiola pad using the largest Wrapped Stitched Rectangles.  Ink blend the edges with Distress Oxide Walnut Stain. Cut a heavy weight mix media paper to 3 3/4″ x  5″.  Die cut the outline Just a Notes from the Daily Script sentiment die set at least 10 times.  Adhere to the mixed media panel at an angle filling up the paper.  Paint Walnut Stain Distress paint all over the card.  Let dry.  Use a sander block and lightly sand some of the paint off.  Take a ball roller and roll on Distress Victorian Velvet paint over the sentiment.  Let dry. Splatter with gold paint.

Focal Point:

Stamp and gold emboss the Chearful Floral stamp on to heavy weight vellum paper.  Die cut using Poppy Stamps Large Stitched Envelope and Postage.  Fold and adhere the sides and bottom flap, leaving the top flap up.    Die cut the Gladiola Blossom and Leaves from heavy weight card stock.  Ink blend all petals with Distress Oxide Cotton Candy.  On the ends of the petal heavy ink blend with Victorian Velvet distress oxide ink.  Then paint the tips of the petals and stamens with gold paint.  Die cut the smallest stamp from Poppy Stamps Large Stitched Envelope and Postage and ink blend with Victorian Velvet.  Stamp the center 1 of the small flowers from the Cheerful Floral using Walnut Stain.   Die cut the Exquisite Butterflies from heavy weight vellum and paint wings with Victorian Velvet the tips with gold, and the body with Walnut Stain.  Adhere the flower and butterfly.

Assembly:

Adhere the pattern paper to a white A2 size card.  Adhere the painted panel using foam tape.  Adhere the envelope, stamps, butterfly and flower in the middle at an angle. Trim and ink blend a Thank You White Greet Tab lightly with Victorian Velvet then the side with Walnut Stain.  Adhere to the center of the envelope.
