Celebrate a summer birthday with the new Butterfly Kaleidoscope Cling Stamp and its matching 7-piece art stencil set. Create a detailed ink-blended or watercolored look with simple layered stenciling. Hi, Jean here with a variation of the quick-colored design from my previous card. It’s really a lot easier and quicker than ink-blending or watercoloring..trust me!

Stamp the new Butterfly Kaleidoscope on smooth white cardstock with Morning Mist VersaFine Clair. Quickly heat-emboss it with detail clear powder.
The matching Butterfly Kaleidoscope 6×6 Art Stencil set has 7 design layers. The stencils are lightly etched with small identifying alphabets near the upper right corner. I’ve used A, B, C, E, F, G. Stencil D took a break.

Use a pigment ink to stencil the layered colors. I’ve used my very vintage re-inked Brilliance inkpads – in consecutive order and repeated several times – Pearlescent Lavender, Pearlescent Sky Blue, Pearlescent Jade and Pearlescent Thyme. Pearlescent pigment adds a soft shimmer to the butterflies.
Cut it with the second-largest Nested Globes die. Cut a teal Lagoon 6×6 with the die too.
Cover a turquoise Lagoon 6×6 with ScorTape and cut the Cheery Happy Birthday background. Cut the detailed top layer from white cardstock – leave it in the die – but remove the two little pieces above the “h” and the “d.” Press the words – still in the die – firmly onto the adhesive-covered background. Sprinkle it with Imagine’s Iridescent Mboss Powder. Tap off the excess and heat-emboss it to adhere the layers and add a sparkly background.

Attach the diecuts to a top-folded 5-1/2″ square white card. Add blue Christmas Fairy Dewdrops. Cut a 5-1/2″ square of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing. Square cards require special handling and extra postage.
