Greetings friends. Today I am sharing a card I made using scraps of paper from the Lagoon paper pack. My advice with any project like this is to use scraps of various widths. If you use the same width, then you have to end up using math and getting everything spaced evenly or it will look “wrong.” If you start with different sizes of strips, you don’t have this problem.
I started my card by arranging my strips in piles in the same order as them come in the paper pack. I thought the paper arrangement in the pack would make for a nice gradient of color for my background:

I used some really strong double sided tape from Elizabeth Crafts to adhere my strips of paper:

The good thing about using the tape is that it is really strong and held the paper down well. The bad thing was that once the paper was down, you couldn’t move it around. I tend to make more mistakes than that. If I were to do this again, I would adhere the strips to light weight computer paper instead. That would allow me to move around the strips if I wasn’t happy with the look.
Next, I cut out the strips suing the Fan Stitch Scalloped Frames dies. I figure you might as well have extra backgrounds on hand for future cards:

To finish the card, I popped up my Bundled Penguin die onto the center using foam tape and added my foil Merry Christmas Tab under his feet. I added just a little bit of Copic marker to the penguin cheeks and his red scarf:

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
