Send caring thoughts on a friendship card in bright spring colors. Backyard Wren and 3 members of the Little Bird Bunch gather beneath the new Umbrella Trio. Add a layer of glossy “waterproofing” to the umbrella tops for extra protection from a spring shower.

Attach packing tape or a piece of clear laminate to a section of the blue 6×6 from the Lagoon Solid Core Cardstock sheet. Cut the top of the large umbrella and 3 of the small umbrella tops. The tape adds a glossy look – like umbrellas that just came in from the rain. Cut the bottom/underside of the umbrella from unlaminated cardstock. Cut the large handle from the silver Rainbow Reflections Mirror Pad 6×6 and attach it between the umbrella layers. Cut 3 of the small umbrellas from the silver cardstock. Attach the small laminated umbrella tops.
I found a stash of ink-blended watercolor papers and gave them a quick spritz of water, then let them airdry for a few minutes. Cut Backyard Wren and Little Bird Bunch from a mix of colors. Color Backyard Wren’s beak with a yellow marker. Color three of the little bird beaks with an orange marker. Color the eye area of the Backyard Wren with a black marker. Assemble the wren and little birds.
Cut white cardstock with the 3.25″ X 4.5″ Fringed Scalloped Frame. Memory Box has great decorative frame sets. This set’s scalloped design matches the umbrellas, Backyard Wren’s wings and the “roundness” of the plump birds. Attach the frame to a side-folded white A2 card.

Attach the birds and umbrellas to the background – use foam tape for the large umbrella and Backyard Wren. Attach a Thinking of You Black Foil Greeting Tab. Cut an A2-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.
Our Solid Core Cardstock Packs – Lagoon, Blush, Greenery and Sunrise – are filled with great colors for any occasion, holiday or season. Add a layer of packing tape or laminate for instant gloss and shine!
