Happy Birthday Card
by Donna Sledzik

Happy Thursday everyone! For today’s card I used 2 stamp sets from the Birthday Blossoms release.

I began by ink blending a background on a piece of watercolor cardstock. I used Picked Raspberry, Carved Pumpkin and Mustard Seed Distress Inks to create the background for the card. I completely dried the inked background before stamping the Dahlia Stems with black pigment ink and clear heat embossing the image. Next I used a paint brush and plain water to paint over the stamped image to remove some of the color from the flowers. I blotted the water with a dry paper towel and repeated the process twice to achieve the look I wanted.

I dried the background and spattered it with black and white inks.

I trimmed the background to the shape I wanted and glued it to a black cardstock panel and trimmed it. This was adhered to a white card base.

I stamped the words “my friend” underneath the background panel. The words “Happy Birthday” were stamped with black ink and die cut with the coordinating die. I used foam tape to adhere it to the card.

To finish the card, I added Black Nuvo Drops to the flower centers and black epoxy dots to the card.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by today and have a great week!
