The new Sledding Penguin glides past the snowy Evergreen Tree Stand to deliver holiday greetings. Wavy Hillside – from Birch Press Design – creates the perfect winter setting.
Cut Evergreen Tree Stand and Wavy Hillside from watercolor paper. Attach the Evergreen Tree Stand to a top-folded Pool Party Paper Pack cardstock sheet. Starting at the top – overlap and attach the 3 Wavy Hillside sections. Trim the lower edge (approximately 1.25″) evenly with the edge of the card.
Cut the large sled oval from Cherry Red Paper Pack cardstock. Attach packing tape or clear glossy laminate to Cherry Red cardstock and cut the narrow outer layer to create a shiny red sled.
Cut Sledding Penguin from watercolor paper and Black Glossy Paper (cardstock). Cut the feet (flippers??) and under-layer for the face from a light orange Sunset Solid Core Cardstock 6×6. Color the eye area with a marker.

Attach adhesive label paper (or a sticker sheet) to bright red wool-blend felt and cut the scarf, hat band and pompom. The paper backing stabilizes the felt and prevents adhesives from saturating it. The pompom is designed to be easily attached behind the tip – I trimmed it and attached it up front for extra poufiness. Assemble the penguin and place him in the sled. Attach them to the background – use foam tape at the top of the hat and behind the penguin’s face.
Almost done! Add a Merry Christmas Foil Banner Black Tab. Attach 1/4″ dots punched from the pale blue Delicate Pastel Glitter Pad 6×6. Cut an A2-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.
