Log Cabin Halloween Scene
by Jean Okimoto

A trio of DIY ghosts chose the new Log Cabin Scene for their fall appearance. The holiday cabin’s snowcapped roof and festive Christmas decor are now a corrugated roof and friendly ghosts. Spooky black tree trunks replace the tall evergreens. It’s Halloween!

Cut the cabin and window trim from 2 shades of Kraft cardstock. Cut the roof from dark orange cardstock and run it through a vintage paper crimper from the stash. (No crimper? Score the roof with a bonefolder or stylus and a scoreboard.)

Cut three of the trees from the new Gathered Tree Trunks set from black cardstock. Cut black cardstock with the 3.5″ wide Rectangle Basics die.

Create ghosts with the 2 smallest Nested Globes dies. Add eyes and mouths with screwpunches or 1/8″ and 1/16″ handpunches. Attach scraps of coral cardstock behind the mouth cutouts. Cut an additional small globe from black cardstock – attach it to the right side the left ghost so he stands out against the big guy. Trim the bottom of one small ghost with the wavy edge of the window’s snowy border.

Attach the roof to the cabin with a strip of foam tape for shadowy dimension. Attach the diecuts to a top-folded A2 card of Orange Peel cardstock – use foam tape for the top of the ghost behind the tree.

Add 1/4″ punched dots of orange glittered cardstock. Cut an A2-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Take advantage of the versatility of Memory Box dies. Use them as designed and expected – and in unique ways that express your creativity! Thanks for visiting our blog – see you on Friday…
