Holiday Traditions

The Holiday parties and festive gatherings will be starting soon.  A good friend of mine always hosts a Holiday Open House in her beautifully decorated home with lots of delicious food and a small gift exchange.  It's so exciting to be included each year and it has become a tradition I look forward to.  Such nice parties deserve a special "thank you" like this one…

Starting on a 5 1/2 square card I added the vertical panel trimmed with scallop edging using the Mini Scallop die cut.  It's easy to tuck those scalloped pieces under the panel on each side.  

The Poinsettia Stem stamp creates the focal image and the coordinating die cut makes quick work of cutting out the stamped image. To align the die, use the registration circles for a perfect fit.  Thanks Pater for a wonderful video tuitorial!

To make the Poinsettia stand out from the background I die cut a second flower using a complimentary patterned paper and positioned it slightly offset behind the Copic colored one.

Add some holiday sparkle by placing yellow gemstones in the flower center and apply Stickles (Rock Candy) to the petals and leaves.  Just squeeze a small amount on your finger and apply.  A little dab will do ya!

The double bows were created by tying the ribbons side-by-side then cinching them together at the knot with string and centering a fancy button on top! 

Lastly, the new "Thanks" die cut delivers your sentiment loud and clear.

Each year my hostess friend looks for my special card and displays it amongst her Christmas decor during her Holiday Open House Event…seems we both look forward to our traditions!
