A Card and a Few {Tips}

My best friend's birthday was yesterday {Saturday}. I wanted to create a card in her favorite color, and the Memory Box blueberry was perfect. I used a blueberry notecard and the Memory Box blueberry dot paper. I also use some Memory Box retired papers that had in my stash because they worked great for this card–the Memory Box quartz soiree and Memory Box russian sage papers. Some stores still have these papers or you may even have them in your stash like I did.

Memory Box Papers: blueberry notecard, blueberry dot, russian sage cs, and quartz soiree cs

Memory Box Stamp: Valentine's Duo B1424

Stamp Ink: Archival Ink coffee

Memory Box Dies: Fresh Foliage 98502, Darrington Corner 98518
Embellishments: Memory Box white pearl, Blue Fern Studios icon set one (painted with silver Liquid Pearls and Tim Holtz Distress Stickles clear rock candy), Prima wood ticket, Manor House Creations Jubilee flower, Sizzix Floral Flourishes embossing folder, sewing machine

Now let's look at a couple of things I did with this card that you might be interested in trying:

Tip #1

Use the Memory Box Fresh Foliage die {98502} and cut it apart to use as you would like under a flower or other embellishment. When I cut this die out, it covered up too much of the Memory Box Darrington Corner die {98518} so I cut the Fresh Foliage die into pieces. It worked beautifully, and I was able put branches of leaves in the exact places I wanted them. I can see myself doing this a lot, and the large white flower hides the cuts I made.

Tip #2

Use just part of a stamp to add to an already created sentiment. I had the Prima wood ticket but it just said "happy." So, I used the Memory Box Valentine's Duo stamp {B1424} to add the word "day" onto the ticket. I had to use my stamp positioner to get it where I wanted it, and it came out a bit messy but I still liked the effect.

So, I hope you will remember to cut up the die cuts into pieces if needed and to stamp onto an already purchased embellishment. I hope you have found this helpful. Thanks for joining me today!
