A Stack of Baskets Full of Thanks
by Anne Thompson

I collect baskets and I use them all through my house for organizing things. There are baskets in the kitchen (for breads and cereals, towels and pot holders), the dining room (for placemats and napkins), the living room (for magazines and books), the bedroom (for sox and scarves), and the bathroom (for medicines). The craft/sewing room has lots of baskets to help organize supplies for my many crafting and sewing pursuits. Today I stacked up the empty baskets which gave me the idea for this card.

These are the dies I used.

I decided to use a top-fold A2 note card as the base. I cut a piece of orange plaid from Nutmeg Plaid PP1033 to 5 1/4 X 4. I then cut a piece of olive green card stock from Greenery SP1011 just 1/16th of an inch more than 5 1/4 by 4 as a base for under the orange plaid. I added that panel to the front of the note card. Then I die cut all of the baskets from kraft card stock and assembled them using a glue pen and Glue Dots. I added a little bit of color to them with a PrismaColor brown pencil and then stacked the baskets on the card front using dimensional foam dots. To finish the card I added a brown satin ribbon bow and a round “THANK YOU” Foil Greeting Black Tab ST009.

If I were to remake this card, I might tuck in some flowers from the three die sets for a bit more color. And I’ll put some flowers or baked goods or groceries in a basket to go with this card when I need a thank you note/gift for a friend.
