Do you ever save paper because it’s just too pretty to toss…like the cover of the Delicate Pastel Glitter Pad? Here’s a way to use the glossy soft pastel-striped cover sheet – diecut the Grand Tulip Shell background, then top it with a delicate gold Polished Foil diecut.
Hi, Jean Okimoto here with bit of up-cycling on a slimline friendship card. My class kits are filled with Memory Box papers and cardstock. I buy a lot of extras in addition to my Design Team supplies – and accumulate a lot of covers from the paper and cardstock packs. Many are too pretty to throw into the recycle bin.

I cut the soft rainbow pastels cover of the Delicate Pastels Glitter Pad – the colors were perfect for the Grand Tulip Shell background. Pressure-embossing with the detailed Grand Tulip Shell die added dimension – and made it easier to attach the detailed gold layer.
Cut the medium-sized Stylish Rectangle from the creamy yellow sheet in the 6×6 Sunny Orange Collection. Spritz the large center offcut with Imagine’s Gold Sheer Shimmer Spritz. Airdry it for a few minutes, then heat-set it.
Color Clear Fairy Jewels with a dark yellow Sharpie or Copic Marker and set them aside to dry.
Stamp the greeting – from the Joyful Moments Clear Stamp Set – on a medium yellow sheet from the Sunny Orange Collection with Melon Impress Fresh Ink. Heat-emboss it with detail clear powder.
Attach the diecuts and jewels to a pink slimline card (3-½” x 8-½”).

You can also create a striped background of the Delicate Pastels with 1″ wide strips of the actual 6×6 sheets and diecut it for a sparkly shell. It would be a pretty card for a summer birthday celebration.
Thanks for visiting – keep cool and safe this weekend!
