Pear Tree Birthday Card
by Sara Cook

Hi everyone!  I have a mixed media card featuring the new Pretty Pear Branch die set.  I was inspired by the dishes my grandmother had and the tapestry on the dinning table chairs.

Background:

Die cut the leafy branch from the Holiday Snowglobe die set several times from mixed media heavy card stock.  Adhere all over to a panel from the same paper cut to 4″ x 51/4″.  Paint with Distress Paint Forest Moss, Uncharted Mariner, and Scorched Timber.  Apply with a wide square brush from tope to bottom creating streaks of color, do not over mix the paint.  Dry.  Dry brush a mix of Picket Fence and Squeezed Lemonade lightly over the die cuts.  Trim yellow paper from the Sunrise paper pad to A2.  Dry brush the edges lightly with Forest Moss and the mix of Squeezed Lemonade and Picket Fence.

Focal Image:

Die cut the Pretty Pear Branch from white heavy card stock.  Ink blend the leaves and branch using Distress Oxide then Distress Ink using Gathered Twigs, Scorched Timber, Squeezed Lemonade, Shabby Shutters, and Rustic Wilderness.  Paint the pear die cuts with Distress paint in Crushed Olive, Squeezed Lemonade and Scattered Straw.  Dry.  Apply a thick layer of Distress Crackle Paint to all the colored die cuts and let air dry.

Assembly:

Adhere the larger panel to an A2 size card then adhere the smaller panel using foam tape.  Adhere the branch from the top of the smaller panel and then adhere the pears under the steams and additional leaves.  Adhere a Happy Birthday Foil Greetings Black Tab.
