Lumi Bird Warm Wishes
by Anne Thompson

We’ve had unseasonably warm weather lately and I’m ready for sweater weather! Here’s Lumi Bird against the Winter Knit embossing folder sending warm wishes for the season ahead.

In the photo above are the materials I used.

To make this card, start with a blank A2 gatefold card base. Use the WINTER KNIT 3D EMBOSSING FOLDER EF1044 with white card stock to create the background panels for the front of the note card. Rub VersaFine Clair Tulip Red ink directly on the embossed paper. Trim the embossed piece into two pieces that are each a scant 2 X 5 1/4. Adhere them to the card front, taking care to line up the knit pattern. I used a piece of BLUSH CARD STOCK SP1012 for the inside of the card, cut 4 X 5 1/4. I’ll add white card stock on that red panel with a note on it when I’m ready to send the card.

Die cut the LUMI BIRD 94977 itself from a scrap of white card stock. Use another piece of Blush paper for the hat and scarf pieces. Color the eyes and beak on the underlay (I used a black pen for the eyes and an orange colored pencil for the beak) and adhere to the back of the head. Attach the hat and scarf pieces together. You’ll notice a couple of things missing from my finished bird. Somewhere between the die cutting station and my work desk, the wing and the hat brim piece disappeared. I looked for them for a long time and have no idea where they could have disappeared to. I figure they’ll show up after this post goes live at which point I’ll add them to my card but you won’t see them on the post. Oh, well.

I used a gray colored pencil to add a bit of shading on the bird. I attached him to the left front panel and the hat or tail can be used to open the card. I stamped “warm wishes” from the CHRISTMAS WONDER CLEAR STAMP SET CL5294 withTulip Red ink on a scrap of white card stock that I then mounted to a scrap of the red I had used for the scarf and hat. I placed that on the right panel at the top.

And that’s it! Lumi Bird is ready for colder weather. And I have one more card done that I can use for any number of occasions this late fall and winter. Happy Crafting!
