Happy New Year! I'm oh so happy, too, that there's a new 2025 Birthday Wishes Collection from Memory Box to start off the new year. For today's card I chose some of the new dies to create a card to celebrate the new year.
materials used
- BLUEBIRD PRINCE 94855
- CELEBRATION BALLOONS 94860
- BIRTHDAY PARTY CAKE 94862
- white top fold note card
- Memory Box paper scraps–teal plaid with gold 6X6 paper cut to 5 1/4 X 4; teal mirror card for balloons and streamers and the cake garland icing
- watercolor paper and watercolor pencils for the bird
- thin white string for the balloons
to make this card
- start with the blank white note card and add the teal plaid paper to the front
- die cut the Celebration Balloons and the Birthday Party Cake decorations from teal mirror paper
- die cut all the bird pieces from a thin watercolor paper
- color the bird pieces using watercolor pencils and a fine point brush with water; when dry, assemble the bird with your favorite adhesive
- add thin string tied to the balloons; use dimensional foam dots to add the balloons to the notecard in the upper left
- add the cake icing details in the upper right corner to look like party garland
- add the curled streamers in the middle right
- use more dimensional foam dots to place the bird in the lower center of the card
I will use this design in various color combinations–plaids with coordinating mirror papers–to send Happy New Year greetings to friends.
This would also make a really cute birthday card with the addition of one of the HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOIL GREETINGS WHITE CIRCLE TABS ST010 added in the lower right corner.
