Hello Peony Card
by Sara Cook

Hello everyone.  I have another background idea for the Peony releases.  This one uses a strip of paper to the left of the card to give the background some interest but not over power the focal images of the flower.   This technique can use patterned paper or metallic papers as well.

Background:

3D emboss white paper using the Fuchsia Cascade folder.  Trim to 5 ½” x 2”.  Lightly ink blend using Versafine Clare Artic ink. Trim Blueberry Mist paper to 5 ½” x 2 ¼”.  Adhere the 3D embossed strip on top.

Focal Image:

Die cut the Refined Peony Bloom die set and Ethereal Butterflies from Blueberry Mist paper.  Die cut the stamen out of white card stock. Ink blend the petals with Versa Versafine Clare Artic ink and use Delicata White ink in the tips and folded petals.  Ink blend the stamen using Oxide Scattered Straw.   Adhere the petals together using the envelope as a guide.  Ink blend Delicata White on tips of the butterfly wings.

Assembly:

Adhere the 3D embossed strip to a A2 side folding white note card about ¾” away from the fold.  Adhere the peony floor to the center.  Stamp “hello” from Hello Butterfly clear stamp set on white paper using Versafine Clare Nocturne ink.  Die cut using the matching die.  Adhere below and to the right of the peony.  Adhere 3 of the smaller butterflies around the card.
