A Cheery Hello
by Jean Okimoto

Send a Cheery Hello with colorful circles of the new Butterfly Kaleidoscope.  Add a quick and easy faux ink-blended look of  breezy summer colors with the new coordinating stencil set. Hi, Jean here with more designs from July’s Cheerful Countryside collection.

Stamp Butterfly Kaleidoscope on white cardstock with Nocturne VersaFine Clair.  Quickly heat-emboss it with detail clear powder.

Sponge or brush it – using Butterfly Kaleidoscope Art Stencils A, B, C, and D – and Sunflower Yellow, Pearlescent Lime and Pearlescent Jade Brilliance inks.  The stencils are labeled with small lightly-etched letters near the upper right corner.  My re-inked Brilliance inkpads are very vintage – but the inks are very blendable and perfect for stenciling.  The Pearlescent shades also add a soft shimmer to the design.

Dry the inks and cut the design with the 3-1/4″ and 1-3/4″ Circle Basics dies.  Cut circles of the lime green Greenery 6×6 cardstock – 2 small circles and a large circle.  Layer the circles for dimension.

Attach ScorTape to white cardstock and cut the Cheery Hello background.  Cut the Cheery Hello detailed layer from the lime green cardstock.  Attach the green diecut to the adhesive-covered background.  Cover the exposed adhesive with detail clear embossing powder, tap off the excess powder.   Heat-emboss it to attach the layers and add a glossy background.

Working from right to left – attach the diecuts to a white A6 card (4-1/2″ x 6-1/4″) – use foam tape for the greeting.

It would take a lot of skill – and longer-than-forever – to color the detailed butterflies with markers or blending brushes.  I’ve used just 4 of the 7 coordinating stencils – the butterflies would also be beautiful with 7 colors!
