I made a birthday card for today’s post. This time I used colored pencils on poppies stamped on watercolor paper for the focal image. These are the materials I used: blank white note card; green plaid paper from NUTMEG PLAID PP1033; watercolor paper; PLAYFUL POPPIES CLEAR STAMP SET CL5281; VersaFine Clair Nocturne (black) ink; Prismacolor pencils; AUTUMN FAIRY JEWELS JWL004; and HAPPY BIRTHDAY WHITE FOIL TABS ST032.

To make this card I started with a blank white note card and covered the front with a green plaid paper from the Nutmeg Plaid PP1033 paper pack. I stamped the Playful Poppies from the CL5281 clear stamp set on the grainy side of a piece of watercolor paper. I colored the images using Prismacolor colored pencils in oranges and yellows and greens before adding a very light blue-gray over the background I added some extra bling to the poppy centers with small gold Autumn Fairy Jewels.
Here’s a close-up view:

To finish the card front panel, I chose one of the Happy Birthday White Foil Tabs and used Scor-Tape to adhere it to the bottom center over the leaves. I used a green ink direct to the watercolor paper to edge the panel before adding it to the card front.

This will be a lovely sunny card for a winter birthday!
