Hearts and flowers are a universal combination for Valentine’s Day, friendship cards, Mother’s Day, weddings and anniversaries. Let’s create a special greeting with the Cherish Hearts and the new Playful Poppies Clear Stamp and Die Set. Add a matching heart-shaped greeting inside the card and you’re ready for February 14th!
Prep a coral 6×6 from the Blush Solid Core Cardstock pack with the embossing powder tool to eliminate stray specks. Stamp the flowers section with VersaMark and heat-emboss it with detail white powder.
Carefully snip and remove the small “hello” die and tabs attached to the center of the tallest flower. Diecut the stamped image – then trim the flowers.
Use sections A5 and A7 of the Playful Poppies 6×6 Art Stencils and Sunflower Yellow Brilliance ink to color the centers. Offset the stencils to create more shading. Gently heat-set the ink. The sections are numbered in the colored instructions included in the stencil set. Numbers are also lightly marked near the right side of the designs.
Prep a medium-green 6×6 from the Greenery Solid Core Cardstock Pack and stamp the leafy section with VersaMark. Heat-emboss it with detail white powder. Diecut the 2 leaves, then trim them for layering.
Cut the largest Cherish Heart from white cardstock. Attach the diecuts to a white A6 card (4.5″ x 6.25″) – use foam tape for the leaves and large flowers. Add 1/4″ dots punched from the soft orangey Delicate Pastels Glitter Pad 6×6. Punching from the reverse side helps create smoother edges on glittered cardstock.
Stamp “you are loved” – from the Playful Poppies set – on white cardstock with Abandoned Coral Distress Oxides. Quickly heat-emboss it with detail clear powder to set the ink. Cut the greeting with the smallest Cherish Heart. Cut another heart from the coral cardstock used for the flowers and layer it – slightly offset – for dimension. Attach it to the inside of the card.
Cut an A6-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.
