Rusty Water Can
by Sara Cook

Hi everyone. I have a mixed media card featuring the Rustic Watering Can die set.

Die cut the Rustic Watering Can and Wild Leaves from mixed media heavy card stock. Paint the leaves using Distress Paints in Squeezed Lemonade, Peeled Paint, Crushed Olive and Evergreen Bough. Don’t over mix the paint, leaving some paint unmixed. Adhere the Rustic Watering Can die cuts together. Paint the watering can with Brushed Pewter and add shadows using Black Shoot. Let dry.

Next step is to add texture with Distress Grit paste, any color will work but I used Snow Fall a translucent paste. Apply around the lines cut into the die and anywhere you think rust will form. Let dry. Color the grit paste and can using Distress Crayons. I used Salvage Patina, Peacock Feathers, Rusty Hinge, Crackling Campfire, and Walnut Stain. Apply directly on the grit paste and use a water brush to work it in. You can also use your finger to smear it over the can to give it a distressed look. Keep applying the crayons until you get the look you want.

Die cut the 2nd largest Cinched Frame die from Black Card stock. Use a silver Distress can and rub along the edges with your finger lightly dipped in water. Adhere to a A2 size card made from kraft card stock. Adhere the frame die to the card. Adhere the can to the black using foam tape in the middle and liquid glue on the sides and bottom. Arrange the leaves in the can. Adhere a Thinking of You Foil Greetings Black tab to the bottom portion of the can
