Hello everyone! Isn’t the new Lumi Bird die set is so cute? I decided to use it for my card today along with other new products from the new Christmas Charm release!
I began by die cutting the Aurora Snowflake Frame from pink cardstock and glueing it to a pink cardstock panel. I ink blended white ink around the edges of the panel to lighten the color, and spattered it with white ink. I adhered the panel to a white cardbase.
The Lumi bird’s body, hat trim and pom pom were all die cut from white cardstock. I ink blended the bird’s wing and body with a light brown ink. I glued a black cardstock piece behind the eyes of the bird. The hat and scarf were die cut from red cardstock. I assembled the bird and layed it aside while I die cut the rest of my images.
The greenery was all die cut from green cardstock and inked blended with a darker green ink. The berries were all die cut from red cardstock. The bow was die cut from pink cardstock and ink blended with a darker pink color to give some dimension to the bow. The Basket was die cut from Kraft cardstock and the background of the basket was die cut from a brown cardstock. Once the basket was put together, I ink blended a darker brown around the edge of the basket.
I adhered the basket to the card using foam tape. I did not put foam tape towards the top of the basket so I could tuck in the bird and greenery. I used foam tape to adhere the bird inside the basket. Next I tucked in and glued the greenery and berreies in place. The bow was glued to the basket and some of the holly leaves at the bottom of the basket. The words “Sending Joy” were die cut from pink cardstock and glued to a white cardstock shadow die cut. I used foam tape to adhere it to the card.
To finish the card, I added a little more white ink spatter to it, then used a white gel pen to add some highlights to the die cuts.
