With so many great papers and images in the What's In the Box release, it was very hard to choose what to use first. When making Christmas cards I tend to make a more traditional style card. It's hard to tell, but this card has an Onyx Soiree notecard for the base. For the main image, I stamped E1419 Snowy Branches with clear embossing ink and embossed with White embossing powder on White Soiree paper. The beautiful texture of the paper is brought out in the next step. I swiped the embossed tree branches with Distress Faded Jeans ink. For a little sparkle and to make it look more like a night sky, I spritzed with Pearl glimmer mist and then buffed with a tissue to remove any ink or spray from the white embossing. I left about an 1/8 th" all around when I trimmed the image so that it looks like there's an extra layer without extra paper. I mounted that on Frost Soiree paper. B1385 Heaven Sings was stamped and embossed with white embossing powder on Onyx Soiree paper and layered onto Frost Soiree paper. I'm thinking now that I should have stamped the little bird from the end of the sentiment stamp in the branches. I'll have to try that next time.
Hope you are enjoying all of the wonderful new papers and stamps this week. Maybe you'll be inspired to make a few Christmas cards now so you're better prepared for the holidays.
For a chance to win the Snowy Branches stamp, please leave a comment. You have until 9pm PST Thursday, July 8th to enter. Good Luck!

This is a beautiful card and even though the northeast is currently having heat & humidity, it does put me in a “peace on earth” wintry kind of mood. Connie

What an elegant card! Love it. The stamp can be used for so many different types of cards.
I have the KISS attitude about most things these days: keep it simple…
and this stamp fits that framework! And, trees are so basically natural! Maybe the ‘snow’ could easily become ‘stars’ and an eerie moon added to use the stamp for late fall too. Will look for this stamp!!
What a great tranquil winter scene.
Such a simple, elegant holiday card. Looking at this makes me sort of forget how hot it is outside (over 100). Thanks for sharing and a chance to win
Sweet and elegant…oh the ideas are churning!
I love the snow. I love laying in it and looking up at the sky through the tree branches, which now that I write that is pretty much what this stamp resembles. When the snow falls it is so peaceful.
I have not used distress inks that much but I love the look that you achieved, and I am sure it looks beautiful with the extra shimmer.
I just refreshed the forecast on weather.gov, it is 101 degrees F. I love the snow.
Just found your site. It is exquisite – so clean, simple, and wonderfully satisfying. Thanks!
I have never been around snow…but we are moving to Tenn. when we retire – have bought the house – and it snows good there. I have seen pictures of the snow falling…and trees without leaves….much like this stamp.
This card is fabulous. Love the colors. Thanks for the chance!
We’re in the third day of a heat wave…the snowy branches are especially inviting! I do like blue during the winter and Christmas season, so thanks, too for the wonderful idea!
I love the look of this card — the embossing and the ink used to bring out the design of the stamp. Gorgeous and very elegant. Love it!
I have enjoyed all of Debbie’s cards, but this is my ABSOLUTE favorite! Simple and elegant, very cooling in this oppresive heat spell. A definite must for this winter’s card making.
It is sooo hot where I live. That card cooled me off. I love Jesus so I love Christmas. I would love some stamps, your company is new to me!!

What a lovely card!
This Christmas in July card is gorgeous. I looked at it and fell in love with it. It is a simple card but portrays such beauty. I haven’t made my Christmas cards in the past but I will definitely make this card for friends. To me it showed the true meaning of the holiday and how we should take time to look at the simple things in life and enjoy them.
Very eyecatching and so many possibilities. Although I’m not familiar with all the techniques, I would love to learn how make a duplicate of this card (including the bird) for this year’s batch of Christmas cards. You did a great job. Love looking at all your creations. Thanks. And thanks for the chance to win.
What a great card brings to mind a
crisp winter night, love it.
