Pine Branch Bird – WITB Holiday 2011

I thought this day would never get here!   We finally get to share some sneak peeks of the new holiday stamps from Memory Box!   The images are all amazing and the new dies…well….they're to die for!  {insert groan…bad pun}

I finally settled on the Pine Branch Bird (D1810).  I have a thing for birds and always like to play with Prismacolor pencils.  Trying to perfect my coloring/blending technique.

Instructions:

  • Stamp Pine Branch Bird on Parchment card stock using Rich Cocoa Memento
  • Color with medium of your choice.  I used Prismacolor pencils as follows:
    • Branches/Pine Bough:  Burnt Ochre, Limepeel, and Kelp Green
    • Bird:  Yellow Ochre, Crimson Red, Dark Umber
    • Remember to use the 'fading' technique and shade from light to dark.  Then come back with your lightest color and use a tiny circling motion to blend your colors.
  • Trim this piece down just inside the inked lines so it will be about 2 7/8 X 1 1/4 and distress the edges with Tea Dye or Antique Linen Distress Ink
  • Mount on a mat made from Mocha card stock
  • Cut a 2 3/4 X 3 3/4 piece from the 12 X 12 Bells are Ringing Paper and emboss lines 1/4 in on all sides then lightly distress with Distress Ink
  • Attach this piece to a Mocha mat and attach to front of Sage Note Card
  • I added a trimmed piece of the red/white flowered paper from the Yuletide 6 X 6 paper pack behind the bird image and then attached all to the card
  • I finished off with a button tied around a small piece of cream tulle.

Hope you enjoy!

And remember to leave comments daily for a chance to win some fantastic prizes from Memory Box!
