Two Clean and Simple Cards
by Karen Walker

The design for these two cards was inspired by a birthday card a friend gave me last year. I loved the design and decided that one of the many florals in the Arched Flower Basket die would work perfectly for it. I love that just one small die from a large set can be inspiring on its own.

I created the card with yellow flowers first, and then made a smaller version with vellum flowers like the ones on the card I received.

The first step was to create the card base (5 1/2” X 5 1/2”) and panel (5” X 5”) from some white linen cardstock I had in my stash. The yellow flowers were die cut from a sheet of cardstock in the Sunrise Paper Pack, and the centers from a scrap piece of gold mirror cardstock. I arranged the flowers on the 5” panel and used a liquid glue to attach the white cord I used as stems behind the flowers. I tucked the ends of the white cords on the backside of the panel with some double sided tape. Next, I used my paper trimmer to cut the sentiment strip, and stamped the sentiment from Sunshine and Wildflowers stamp set in black ink. Both the sentiment strip and the floral panel were added to the card base with dimensional tape.

I followed the same steps to create the smaller card, creating a 5” x5” card base and a

4 1/4” X 4 1/4” panel. I had a piece of lovely purple vellum in my stash and used that for the florals for the Arched Flower Basket and added Clear Fairy Drops for the centers. I chose one of the Happy Birthday Foil Greetings Black Tabs for this sentiment. The tabbed greetings have always been a favorite of mine.

I hope these cards will inspire you to create some clean and simple designs with our new products from the Sunkissed Summer release.

Thanks, as always, for stopping by.
