Sometimes their birthdays get a little lost in the shuffle of Back-to-school, Halloween and Thanksgiving– so here is a special card idea with a hidden message AND a gift.
Today I am using 2 Memory Box dies that work together perfectly—
The corners of the die cut card slip securely into the each of the four slot openings. On this card I stamped the birthday message on the blue base layer so it is revealed when the card is lifted out of the slots. And there's more…

The pears are colored with Glimmer chalks. The sparkle in the chalk coordinates nicely with the shimmer of the note card. Oh, and don't be afraid of color…the pears are chalked in gold and highlighted with a deep red to show their ripeness. Add a little green glimmer chalk on the leaves and a light yellow and blue (matte, not glimmer) to the background. I used colors from these chalk sets—

As a final touch, I added black/white plaid ribbon, and rounded two corners of the card with a punch.
