Sparkly Holiday Ornament

I just can't resist glitter–and lots of it, especially during the holidays.  So with 3 beautifull Memory Box dies, one stamp and a little glitter, here are the results…

Sparkly Holiday Ornament

Materials:

Instructions:

To create the colored glitter holly leaves:

  1. Apply one side of the sticky sheet to white card stock (2" x 2 1/2"); partially peel back liner on remaining side of sticky sheet and stamp holly image directly onto sticky surface using Staz-On ink.  Sounds crazy I know, trust me.

2.  Holding onto the attached liner, dip stamped sticky portion into microfine highlight glitter.  By partially peeling back the liner you still have an area to handle the card without touching the sticky paper with your fingers–smart. Once the glitter covers the sticky portion, remove the liner completely and dip again covering the entire card with glitter.

Rub the glitter firmly to burnish it into the adhesive. This makes the glitter super sparkly and keeps any loose glitter from shedding.

3. Align the holly die cut with the stamped image (use registration points on die) and cut the holly out.

4. Use your favorite markers to color the holly right on top of the glitter!  It takes a little while to dry so be careful not to smear the ink.

Set holly piece aside and create the ornament:

  1. Place Sook Wang tape onto a 4 1/2" x 3 1/2" scrap of white cardstock. Place the Drop Ornament die onto the card stock side (not the release paper side) and run it through your die cut machine. Remove the cut piece, peel off the liner and dip the sticky side into gold glitter.  Burnish the glitter.
  2. Cut the Emma Ornament from a second piece of white card stock (using a metal shim helps cut all the fine details easily).
  3. Use a fine tip glue bottle to carefully apply dots of glue onto the reverse side of the Emma ornament and adhere onto the glittered ornament.
  4. Add small gold pearls to snowflakes, attach the glittered holly leaves then add a green silk bow.

Attach (use foam dots to elevate) the beautiful ornament to your card layered with gold metallic and red suede paper.

When working with  glitter, if you don't end up wearing some of it…then you're not doing it right! (just kidding)

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and have many things to be thankful for…here are two of mine…

As a mother and grandmother I am so blessed~
