For today's post I created a floral bouquet against a stenciled background.

MATERIALS USED

  • Memory Box White Notecard
  • Garden Vines Stencil No. 88523
  • Forest Moss Distress Ink and Blending Tool
  • Fresh Foliage Die No. 98502
  • PoppyStamps Lorelai Leaf Die 839
  • scrap of paper leftover from Memory Box Tinsel Collection, I think
  • Frangia Bouquet Die No. 98568
  • Squash Distressed Dots paper
  • Texture Disperse Stencil No. 88507
  • Prismacolor Pencil Olive Green

  • tape the stencil down over the front of the notecard
  • apply Forest Moss ink using a blending tool

  • Adhere diecut Fresh Foliage to the card front

  • Add the diecut Frangia Bouquet, using popdots on the flower blossoms

  • Add the diecut Lorelai Leaf on top of the other two pieces, using tiny popdots on some of the leaves

  • To add some interest on the left margin, I used the Testure Disperse Stencil and an olive Prismacolor pencil.  I moved the stencil around and colored in the dots until I had a design I liked.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the new Memory Box stencils.  I'm playing with all sorts of ways to use them–inking, spraying, layering one stencil over another, and coloring inside a stencil for a hand-drawn look. I'm experimenting with lots of different materials and techniques.  Fun!  I hope you've gotten some stencils and have begun playing with them as well.

Happy Crafting!
