Elegant Holly Double Frame Peace Card

About a year ago I packed up all of my alcohol inks because I felt I'd run out of interesting things to do with them.  Since discovering Ranger's Alcohol Ink Paper and Yupo paper, I've unpacked them again and I'm getting inky all the time.  They're like this brand-new thing again!  I've been dropping ink spots on the alcohol ink papers and have been fascinated with the results.  And I love the way the images shine after die cutting.

• PEACE CHESHIRE SCRIPT 94017
• bright yellow notecard 
• glue pen, glue dots, plaid ribbon bow with gold pipe cleaner accent
• Adirondack Alcohol Inks in a variety of colors–reds, greens, yellows, orange–dropped in puddles on alcohol ink paper

This time when cutting the inked paper I let it dry for a really long time and then ran it through my Big Kick using the metal plate.  Everything popped out of the die easily.  I love that the Elegant Holly Double Frame has so many pieces to play with.  And "peace" just fit in the scrap I had leftover.

I arranged and rearranged the three squares until I found a composition that I really liked.  Just tilting the middle plain square frame (which separates the double frames)  added so much more interest to the card.  I tried it first as a side-fold card before adding the branches, bow, and "peace"; but I liked the top-fold orientation better.

A Christmas card with an unconventional color scheme–that works for me!  I had thought this would be a fall card even though it's holly, but by adding "peace" and the red plaid bow it now works for Christmas.

Off to the craft store to buy more alcohol ink paper and more Red Pepper alcohol ink.  There are so many more  on-line tutorials to watch and techniques to try!
