Joy
by Donna Sledzik

Happy Friday everyone!  Today’s Christmas card features the cute new Polar Bear die.

Let’s make the card:

  • Create an ink blended background on a light blue cardstock panel.  I used several Blue Distress Oxide Inks and a blending brush to ink the light blue cardstock.

  • Next, I spattered the background with plain water to add some texture.
  • I die cut the Evergreen Sky Collage die from white cardstock and inked the trees with Peeled Paint Distress Oxide Ink.
  • The polar bear was die cut from gray and white cardstock.  I lightly inked the edges of the bear with Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide Ink and glued the layers together.  I glued a piece of black cardstock behind the eyes and nose of the bear.  The cheeks where colored with a pink pencil and the paws with a gray pencil.  I tied a piece of ribbon around the bears neck for a scarf.
  • I glued the blue background to a black cardstock mat and glued it to a white card base.
  • I used foam tape to adhere the tree frame to the card.
  • The bear was glued in place with liquid glue, tucking him behind the hill.
  • Next, I spattered the card with white paint.
  • The word Joy was die cut from white cardstock and the shadow from red cardstock.  I adhered the word at the top of the tree frame.
  • The sentiment was stamped and white heat embossed on a black cardstock strip and adhered to the card with foam tape.

To finish the card I added some Christmas Fairy Crystals.  That’s it for today!  I hope this weekend brings you some time to craft!
